ronaldo is very motivated. On Wednesday he touched the ball for the first time since his injury, and since then has been giving signs of his speedy recovery and of his imminent return to the team. He took extra shots on target this morning with Cassano, to later jog on his own.
The Brazilian wants to return to being in top form as soon as possible. He was unluky enough to get injured again due to a knee problem when he was back in shape in a match against Écija, in which he even managed to score a goal. It was expected his recovery would take a month, but Ronaldo has brought the deadline closer.
He not only has overcome his knee problems, he also wants to make it to the call-up for the match against Valencia. He knows well that Capello rewards his player's efforts, so he has worked extra hard this week to make it to the match. Today, he worked harder than ever this week, by doing extra shooting exercises and physical workouts. The 30 minutes the programmed shooting practise went on for weren't enough for him, so he decided to work for another 15 minutes, joined by Cassano and goalkeepers Casillas and Diego López, while being supervised by Capello.
Work didn't end there for the Brazilian striker. He talked to recovery expert José Luis San Martín in order to do some more exercises, which the coaching staff member agreed to do. They consisted on jogging rounds. Ronaldo ended training with an exhausted face on his way to the dressing room. We'll have to wait for Saturday to see if the Brazilian is rewarded by his coach and makes it to the call-up. He has shown he is dying to go to Valencia.
